open letter to Edward Daniels
Dear Mr. Daniels:
As I looked over your website today in advance of the coming elections, I could not help but notice on the opening page a letter addressed to your ‘Dear Harlem Neighbors’ announcing your candidacy for ‘Harlem’s 15th Congressional District.’
You should be delighted to learn that if you succeed in your bid to oust Charles Rangel from office, you will have the honor of representing not only the people of Harlem, but also those of Washington Heights, Inwood, and Marble Hill - as well as many thousands of people living in the Upper West Side and Queens.
I hope you will have enough time between the election and your inauguration to familiarize yourself with the exact boundaries of the 15th and perhaps get to know the issues facing those who do not live in Harlem, but who nonetheless comprise the majority of the population of the 15th District.
Best of luck next Tuesday.
Sincerely,
Cal D. Margulis

Dear Mr. Margulis,
I have forwarded your letter to Mr. Daniel’s personal attention. Thank you for your time and for your valuable communication.
Mr. Daniels has been earnestly pursuing opportunities to speak to the residents of the varied communities within our 15th Congressional District. Early in the campaign he pointed out to me that the District extended into many different areas and that he intended to make certain to talk to as many constituents as possible. As a result, he has attended whatever functions he could in Astoria, the upper West Side, and so forth trying to obtain information about issues specific to the needs of these communities so that he could effectively represent the needs of all the members of our District.
Should you know of any current meetings and/or events within these areas which Mr. Daniels can attend, please forward said information to us. We will make every effort to be there. This would provide Mr. Daniels with a further opportunity to gain first hand knowledge of these communities needs.
Again, I thank you for your communication. People like you are the backbone of our country. Your interest and willingness to provide input is greatly appreciated. Looking forward to any future
Joanne De Lisi,
Campaign Manager
